Getting there
By Car: (approx 218 miles from HW)
M40 west and exit at junction 10 (A43) to join up with M1 at junction 15A. Continue north on M1 for 93 miles to junction 32 and then join M18 (north). Continue on M18 for 21 miles to junction 5. Join M180 (Grimsby) and continue onto A180 and follow signs for Cleethorpes and Grimsby Town FC. The ground is on the left on the Grimsby Road.
Train: Nearest station Cleethorpes. Approx one mile from ground. Turn right out of station and then left into Popular Road. At junction turn right into Grimsby Road. Ground is just over half a mile on the right.
Please note there are no late night trains departing from Cleethorpes station.

Fred Rouse - First professional player for The Wanderers back at the start of the 1900's before moving to The Mariners in 1902. Later played for Stoke, Everton, Chelsea and West Brom.

Ron Rafferty -
Former Wanderers striker who later turned into a legend for The Mariners. Originally spotted by Portsmouth while playing Isthmian league football for Wycombe. Moved to Fratton Park in July 1954 but transferred to Grimsby two years later after scoring five goals in 23 appearances for Pompey.
In six years with The Mariners, Rafferty scored 145 League goals in 263 appearances, including 34 goals during their 1961/62 promotion season.
Rafferty made his Wycombe debut in in January 1954 at the age of 19 and scored 10 goals in 14 appearances before Portsmouth gave him a chance in the professional game.
After leaving Grimsby in the summer of 1963, Rafferty went on to finish his career at Hull City and Aldershot. His final League record read as 383 appearances and 166 goals.

Iffy Onoura - Spent a short spell on loan at Wycombe at the start of the 2003/4 season while on the books of Sheffield United. Joined Grimsby on a permanent deal shortly after his return to The Blades.
He made over 500 appearances and scored in excess of 100 goals in his professional career having started out at Huddersfield before spells with Mansfield Town, Gillingham, Swindon Town, Gillingham (again) and then Sheffield United.

Other connections
Former Wanderers midfielder Kenny Swain went on to manage Town in the mid 1990's.
