NEW STADIUM LATEST
(Monday 2nd November 2009)
A Wycombe District Council Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Monday evening (2nd November) will
discuss a third party report on the 'financial viability' of the proposal to build a 'Community Stadium' for the use of both Wycombe Wanderers and London Wasps. A statement by WDC made to the Bucks Free Press and published in the paper on Friday 30th October, said, "Their report concludes that the proposals are potentially viable and that there is a reasonable chance of meeting the clubs’ ambitions for a new stadium in 2013/14". However, the public and press will be excluded from the meeting as WDC say the report "contains a significant amount of commercially sensitive information." Wanderers and Wasps owner Steve Hayes commented to the BFP, "This is for the council to decide whether it wants to move forward, it is not for the public." He added, "This isn’t about me earning lots of money, this is a legacy for the town and making sure Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers progress."

Former Wanderers boss Peter Taylor will immediately become linked with the vacant job having had a successful spell there during the 2001/2 season, leading them to promotion to 'Division One'. |

WYCOMBE 2 WALSALL 3
(Saturday 31st October 2009)
Wanderers contrived to lose 3-2 at home to Walsall on Saturday after racing into a 2-0 lead at the break and playing some of their best football of the season. Loanee Scott Davies opened the scoring on 14 minutes with a fantastic opportunists effort - flighting a 40 yard free-kick from the left wing over stranded Walsall 'keeper Clayton Ince. Davies doubled the lead eight minutes before the break when he guided home a cross from Matt Phillips from the edge of the box. At the point nothing but a Wanderers victory looked possible but a slightly lethargic start to the second period for Gary Waddock's side saw the visitors get back into the game on 55 minutes when Steve Jones converted from close range. Even then Davies went close to completing his hat-trick and Matt Harrold will be rueing a miss that would have surely put pay to The Saddlers chances of taking anything from this game. But with ten minutes left on the clock Wanderers defence crumbled when Mark Hughes forced the ball home after a goalmouth melee. Things went from bad to worse for Wycombe three minutes later when Alex Nicholls managed to angle home a shot from the right of corner, past Scott Shearer and into the opposite corner of the net. The result will leave Wanderers shellshocked ahead of next Saturday's home FA Cup tie with Brighton. Wycombe: Shearer, Woodman, Duberry, Johnson, Hunt, Harrold (sub 73 Pittman), Zebroski (sub 68 Bloomfield), Doherty, Betsy, Davies, Phillips - subs not used: Green, Young, Mousinho, Westwood, Harris - Att:5,046 |

TRUST NEWSLETTER
(Thursday 29th October 2009)
Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust have broken their silence since Steve Hayes took sole ownership of the Club in July of 2009. In a newsletter issued to Trust members and available to view through their website, Chairman David Roberton says, "After the vote, the Trust Board decided it was ‘respectful’ to let the dust settle and to allow all parties time to reflect, plan and move on together.". The letter goes on to add, "The Trust Board has not been dormant during this period. We have been planning and preparing for our ‘changed’ role within the new corporate structure of the Club. In this letter we will elude to some of our plans for the forthcoming year, along with an overview of the continued importance of the Trust." The letter also confirms that the Trust have yet to appoint the two representative Directors to the newly formed company controlling the Football Club. This follows the resignation of the previous two Directors, David McGee and Ian Mather, due to a "serious conflict of interest prevailing." The Trust plan to hold an informal members meeting during November in order to discuss the ongoing issues and the way foward.
