Background:
Product of the Reading Youth Academy who played briefly for The Royals First Team during season 1999/2000 before spending loan spells at both Swansea City and Cheltenham Town during the 2001/2 season - helping the latter to gain promotion through the play-offs. Went on to play for the England Under 20 side but seemed to be cast aside at Reading on the arrival of new boss Steve Coppell in September 2003 and eventually joined Wycombe on loan in January 2004. Spent three successful months on loan before Tony Adams managed to secure him on a two year contract at Wycombe. Despite the final fee being undisclosed, it's has since been established that the final total payment to Reading will be in the order of £140,000 paid in instalments, with Reading also getting 25% of any profit made any subsequent sale. The deal also included two of Wanderers' Centre of Excellence players transfering to the Reading Academy. Since his move to Wycombe he has been linked with possible moves to Club's higher in the divisions, including West Brom, Cardiff City, Manchester City and Ipswich Town. With his contract with Wycombe up at the end of the 2005/6 season, those stories only grew in stature as the season progressed, culminating in a loan move to Nottingham Forest announced on Friday 11th November. The deal became permanent in the January 2006 'transfer window' meaning that Tyson finishes with a record of just over a goal every other game during his near two year spell with the Wanderers.
